Vocal is a leading provider of Business Continuity communications software.
We are seeking a talented PHP web developer with extensive experience of WordPress, design skills and imagination. Ideal candidates will have a can-do attitude, passion for technology and will be able to get up to speed quickly
The purpose of the Web Developer:
- This individual will be responsible for the daily management and maintence of an existing portfolio of web sites, enhancing the existing product offering and working in close conjunction with Vocal’s marketting department and 3rd party design agencies – although the ability to run with a design and not be limited by it is a must.
- In addition this individual will need to work closely with the product design team to produce graphics and sample sites for customer approval.
Required Skills:
- PHP5 – Candidate should be a top-notch PHP5 developer, familiar with the latest features in PHP 5.2.X and 5.3.X.
- Extensive knowledged of WordPress, management, maintenance and development, particularly of templates.
- MySQL – Modern database development expertise, words like ‘trigger’ and ‘view’ should be part of your vocabulary.
- XHTML/CSS/Javascript – Expert level Javascript/XHTML/CSS development will be necessary. jQuery experience preferred.
- Experience of SEO is important to this role, with a proven track record of improving search engine ranking.
Bonus Skills:
- Social App Development – Experience in building social sites or apps (Facebook, etc.)
Experience:
- We are looking for an individual with at least 3 years experience in the required skills.
