The driver to bring on board Vocal was awareness that the previous disaster recovery communication system was not robust enough and we required something with a higher degree of reliability. The need to dispatch instant multiple messages to all staff and other interested parties was central to our decision making, with Vocal coming out the preferred supplier based on this capability but also price, security, resilience, systems etc.

Catlin selected Vocal’s iModus platform as a digital communication tool after looking at five different products. The company’s challenge was a common one in that although communications during and following an incident had been contemplated and addressed, the current processes were not as advanced as they needed to be.
iModus has proved to be a powerful multi-tiered communication suite showing much more flexibility compared to the previous system. Through this migration, key staff are able to maintain their own group databases and send their own messages, whilst “retaining overall control through the setting up of different authorisation levels”, says Simon Robinson, Head of Business Continuity Planning.
